History 2.0[edit]

The Limelight Centuries[edit]

After the Crepuscular Annihilation, Suhder was one of the few city states to remain largely intact, and quickly expanded outwards by making use of the ensuing chaos plaguing the neighboring states during the Limelight Centuries. The city of the Gods quickly established itself as an economic, academic, and military powerhouse and took control of much of the Lunarest Bay area.

These four centuries were marked by many early military victories where much of northern Varosha was soon conquered under the banner of the pious Council of the Faithful. Soon after the first century, however, many of its client states had gained enough autonomy to start to question the expansionist tactics of the Council and a series of civil wars splintered the territory into many small kingdoms and city states, marking a slow and steady decline in Suhder's power in north Varosha and souther Nitherness.

Keeping its economic and academic importance in the area, a number of fatal military losses slowly reduced Suhder territory until in 389 PCA the state was mostly reduced to a strip of land from the south Lunarest bay to the north Inmer with the City of the Gods only just maintaining an uneasy peace with the neighboring states.

The 100 years of War[edit]

The combined centuries of decline paired with decades of growing civil unrest culminated in the deposition the sitting Council of the Faithful in 389 PCA and a cultural shift within Suhder. Where a largely peaceful approach had been the standard since the last wars of expansion almost 200 years ago the new military leadership made sweeping reforms to allow Suhder's wealth to be spent on a strong military. What followed was more than a decade of quiet bolstering, until Suhder's first Archon and former admiral, a dragonborn called Klistral officially declared war on the Trepun Hegemony in 402 PCA after a diplomat publicly condemned the ongoing militarization.

The Lunarest conflict[edit]

Following the declaration of War against the Trepun Hegemony Suhder won several decisive victories over the Trepun Hegemony and had soon conquered much of its territories up to the city of Trepun itself. The siege of Trepun began in late 404PCA and took until 415PCA due to the difficulty of locking down all of its (secret) waterways.
