Session Log
A short summary of what has happened so far. Full session logs can be found on the Quarrelsome Quartet Logs.
- The party completed the Quest:Kidnapped Caravan Kid quest on 10th of Pelir
- The were asked to serve as body guards for the Pu-Ot caravan, which leaves on the 14th of Pelir.
Current Quest
- Quest Giver: Altorin Puotaruan, owner of the Pu-Ot Caravan Company.
- Perceived Problem: Marrak's son, Herrik, is missing. After going into the city to visit his favourite shops as he always does when the Caravan is in town yesterday, he didn't come back. Having heard the party is in town he hoped they could help find the kid.
- Real Problem: Herrik has been abducted by a group of men thinking they might make a profit holding him for ransom
- Clues to Main Plot / Other Quest: The party would be asked to travel with the caravan as body guards for a good rate.
Briefing
The owner's son Herrik has been missing. Herrik always goes to visit his favourite shops on the Lunaria Promenade when the caravan is back in town, and always comes back before sundown. When he hadn't come back this morning, you were sent to enlist the help of a party of adventurers that had been hired to guard the caravan once before. The owner of the caravan, Altorin, had come to take a liking in them and knowing they were in town he figured you should go ask their help.
Herrik often browses multiple stores, but his favourites are the "Sugar & Spice" patisserie, "Goldhand's Gilded Goodness" trinket store, "The Corner" Arcane supply and wares. Herrik is a 14-year old Half-Elven boy, wearing a set of colourful traveller's clothes, and sporting long, blond hair. He tends to be enthusiastic and curious.
- "Sugar & Spice" patisserie is run by dwarven couple Ebdir and Dimerra Roundbelly. They are nearing middle-aged, jolly, and kind. Having raised kids of their own they tend to be friendly to younger folk.
- "Goldhand's Gilded Goodness" is run by an eccentric Gnome called Rasston Thundercase. He sources his goods from all over the place, and no one knows exactly where (though he will say he goes out to find them himself) - but his prices are fair and he always has some kind of story to tell.
- "The Corner" Arcane supply and wares is run by a Hobgoblin called Lovac the Quiet and her assistant, a halfling called Calree Teacobble. Lovac is the brains, and honors her name by generally being quiet and in the back of the store while Calree runs the store and makes the sales. As the only store in Suhder to sell true enchanted items they are frequented often by wealthy merchants and adventurers alike.
Mission progression
- The party finds themselves in the Westhole Rest inn.
- [Antonia] approaches them, asking for their help
- It takes the party half an hour or so to get to the Lunaria Promenade in the center of the city.
- The second shop they go into (regardless of the order they pick) will have seen Herrik yesterday, as he came in to shop around and spent a few silver coins. They also noted they later saw him walk down the street with a group of men quite a bit older than him, but didn't think much of it. One of the men they recognized as Zontraki, who works for a local tavern called the Slippery Cobble. Zontraki is a young, half-orc man.
- The Slippery Cobble is largely empty, with its bartender, a human woman, saying that she hasn't seen Zontraki since last night. She is lying, pretty obviously.
- By convincing the woman, or investigating the bar the players would find a couple of back rooms where Zontraki and his friends are holding Herrik.
- Confronting Zontraki he will say he wants 1000gp or else he will kill Herrik.
