Ridgerun is a tiny town, consisting of maybe 100 people located in the east of the Astran League, about 6 days travel south of the local capital Bazit.
The town is sat right up against the Barrier Ridge to the south and east and on the edge of the massive Duskpine Timberland to the north. Looking out east is the Barrier Plateau. The Godsroad Highway runs right by the town, though much of it is unguarded when travelling further south, and even well armed caravans often find themselves in trouble when traveling through the Duskpine.

Over the recent months it has grown from about 20 people to its current size after the nearby copper mine was bought by Tid Gildan, a wealthy merchant from Bazit.

The Mine

Ridgerun was originally a way station, three days south of [CITY] and six of Bazit. After a small vein of copper was found some years ago about a dozen people tried their luck here but the vein quickly dried up. Some left, some turned to farming - but with the discovery of a much larger vein of copper news spread fast and soon after the owner was bought out for a large sack of gold and construction of a proper mine started.

Now about 70 people work the mine daily. Caravans with supplies arrive every third day, though news of newfound riches attract more than honest work.

Going ons

Villagers vs Tid co.

The villagers have gathered outside the mining office to complain loudly about Tid co. ruining the village.

Bandits on the road

  • A day before riding into town a group of bandits tried to rob the caravan the players were traveling with.
  • Several people complain about the roads having grown more dangerous of late.

Kobolds killing livestock

Kobolds have been spotted in the last few weeks and occasionally kill livestock, and wounded a man a few nights before.

  • The man is called Yannick, a miner who can occasionally be found in the Wateringhole. He is a human in his early thirties and tells a tall tale of how he heroically fended off the Kobolds and sent them running.
    • Can be intimidated, persuaded, or otherwise bought (with money, liquor, or anything else worth something) to tell the players he saw the Kobolds run off North into the Duskpine about 3 nights ago.

Reports of theft

Complaints of theft have gotten more and more frequent over the last few months.
